How We Handle Data Reports
Every figure on the site is computed from primary SEC filings, so a wrong number means one of three things: the filing was restated, a tag mapped to the wrong line item, or our calculation is wrong. All three are fixable, and all three affect more companies than the one you spotted.
That is why reports are worth sending. We trace the number back to the filing that produced it, and where the cause is a mapping or calculation error the fix applies across every affected company. The full method is published on the methodology page.
